InterAmerican Coffee

Congratulations to SCAA 2014 Sustainability Award winner Twin Trading!

For this project, Twin set out to engage new producers in the Democratic Republic of Congo and help them access value-added markets for the first time. Twin’s first partnership was with Sopacdi, a coffee cooperative in this region, which had 284 members and was in need of support, capacity building and access to international markets. Since 2008 Twin has worked to build production and export capacity for this cooperative, including coffee farm rehabilitation, processing infrastructure, and business and governance capacity. Today, the cooperative has 5,200 members, including 1,450 women, and has constructed the country’s first modern coffee washing station in 40 years.

O’Henry’s Coffees was founded in 1993.  Our founder roasted in the origianl store which was fairly rare that long ago.  It became apparent very early on that IAC needed to be a prime partner in helping us source coffees of quality and consistency.  Something that stands out for us is the level of communication they have.  Our contact, Crystal Reyes, keeps me informed BEFORE issues become issues.  When inventories are low, when the market is changing or when an origin is not producing high quality she lets me know.  Because of this we give better service to our wholesale customers year after year.

I have been working with Brian for a few years, and it is always a pleasure. Whether we’re discussing upcoming crop predictions, cup defects, or Thrash Metal he never confuses Rio with Dio.

I've been do business with InterAmerican since 1990. They are a great company to work with.  They alert me to changes in the market and make sure I'm kept up to date.  They know the profiles I'm looking for with my coffee and I trust them to hit the mark everytime. In all the years, I've worked with only two people, Guy and Lisa.  The personal service I receive is important to me.  They know my company and what I'm looking for!

We have been working with InterAmerican SD for almost 4 years now and every year has been a pleasure working with them. Our personal trader has helped me immensely and taught me a lot through working with her. They are an amazing company to work with.

Santa Barbara Roasting Company

I founded The Leelanau Coffee Roasting Company with the primary goal of providing the best coffee available to our customers wherever our customers may be, and InterAmerican Coffee has been my primary coffee broker since we opened our doors in 1993.  They were recommended to me by another specialty coffee roaster who himself has been in the coffee business for over 3 decades.  Though we are not a large company, InterAmerican Coffee has always treated us as though we were one of the most important. I have always relied upon, appreciate and trust their knowledge of the green coffee business, the quality and consistency of their coffee offerings and, more importantly, the accompanying service provided by their entire company.  They are very easy to do business with, and I believe have been a key to our success.  I've always felt confident with their recommendations and, on the occasion that a bag of two of coffee didn't live up to our specifications, or was in some way deficient, have always received a resolution to the matter quickly and without issue.  Whether I am speaking to a buyer, a warehouse coordinator or have a billing inquiry, everyone at InterAmerican Coffee is happy and willing to help or answer my questions.

I look forward to continuing to work with InterAmerican Coffee and would recommend them to anyone looking for a partner in the Specialty Green Coffee business.

We have had the pleasure to work with InterAmerican Coffee for the past 7 years, and in that time they have proven themselves to be a critical part of our coffee supply line. They consistently provide us with great quality coffees each and every year. We’d like to convey a special thanks to the entire San Diego office, we’re grateful they take such a personal and thoughtful approach to supporting our business. We look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.

Volcanic Red Coffees

Why does Kaladi Brothers work with InterAmerican Coffee?  What sets them apart from other coffee importers?  The answer is fairly simple and twofold; solid offerings, solid service, and solid people.  For over 2 decades Kaladi has purchased our core coffees from IA.  They consistently have great quality offerings, and the brokers have been, and are in the state of being, excellent...

InterAmerican Coffee is not what they seem.  Sure, from the outside it feels like a huge company that can't handle the needs of a small, focused, quality driven company, but this is not the case.  IAC has given us the streamlining, quality seeking, and streamless purchasing we needed to succeed in our field and that is why we choose to do business with them!
David Buehrer, Owner

Greenway Coffee Company

InterAmerican has become my “go-to” source for exceptional coffees of known pedigree, accompanied by the marketing collateral needed to sell those coffees to consumers overwhelmed by choice. The buyers at InterAmerican have established the crucial producer relationships that all roasters desire, and they make those relationships accessible to even the smallest roasters.
