InterAmerican's Senior Vice President Warren Muller began his career in the coffee industry more than two decades ago, he grew up around coffee.
His father worked as a coffee trader for nearly 50 years on the East and West Coasts. Warren remembers visiting the cupping room at 110 Wall Street in New York with his father at the age of three where he still recalls taking a ride on a spinning cupping table.
His professional involvement in coffee began in the 1980's as a specialty coffee importer; and his growing interest in learning more about how coffee is roasted and brewed, lead him to a position at Peerless Coffee Company in Oakland, California. During his five-year tenure, he served as Director of Commodities and Quality Control. In 1995, Warren was recruited by Minneapolis-based Cargill to establish a new Specialty Coffee Division in their East Coast trading office. Three years later, InterAmerican hired him to open and operate the company's West Coast operation, located in Pleasant Hill, California.
Since moving to the Bay Area, Warren has been very active in the Pacific Coast Coffee Association and in 2009 was appointed Executive Vice President. He served as PCCA President in 2010. Warren was invited to be a judge at the 2009 Hawaii Coffee Association's First Annual Cupping Competition, the premiere event to include coffees from all of the state's islands. He also volunteered his time and expertise as a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America's Technical Standards Committee until 2002. He enjoys tasting and collecting fine wines and spending weekends with his wife and young children in California's Napa Valley.
