Cooperative Aecar (Asociacion Regional de Productores de Cafe Caranavi) was founded in 1987 with 164 small farmers averaging 3 acres of land per farmer. This coffee is grown throughout Central Illimani, Villa Caturapi, Collasuyo, Buen Pasto, Magallanes, Alto Ascension and Chuma.
Aecar's mission is to conserve the environment while maintaining an economic balance. The Cooperative has taken many steps to improve coffee quality, including building patios, building nurseries and providing coffee technicians to assist farmers in training and organic agricultural practices.

Cooperative Mejillones was founded in 1988. There are 70 producers, of which 64 are organic and the other 6 are in transition. Mejillones is located in the Department of La Paz, in the Province of Caranavi.
